It had to happen once. The Japanese vintage line in our shop is almost complete with this LSS145 in Army or Moss Green. What do you call this color?
The vintage series is the series that is under the Premium series (the highest series from the Tokai line) so expected a very high quality. Both the premium and the vintage series are built in Japan and you can largely find in the shop in the shop.
Who doesn't know the iconic model from 1954? The model was then shown for the first time and had to become an affordable LP of his big brother. Initially this junior was mentioned as Les Paul/SG Body, but after 3 years it became a final junior. No binding, no sculpted top, one pickup, one volume button and one tone button had to be the basis for reducing the price.
The list of artists is long. Billie Joe Armstrong (Greenday) John Lennon, Mick Jones, Peter Frampton, Bob Marley etc. All loving this model. Gibson later made different variations.
IMPORTANT! This is the first vintage junior with SEB construction. What does this mean?
The string vibrations of wooden instruments travel faster in the middle of the body than on the upper and back. By placing a piece of wood with crossed grain on this central position of the body, the sound is reflected four times faster to the upper and back of the instrument than on a standard guitar.
This new body construction offers a dramatically raised Sustain and Nooothity that can be "flows" while playing through your body.
So we are extra proud that we have this model at home. You may want to ask the question of what the difference is compared to the junior from the premium line.
The body of this model is a Honduras Mahonie Two Piece Body in combination with a one piece set-neck. The Premium series has a one piece body and the price difference is also in it.
Of course you can have a nice Rosewood Neck with a Cow Bone Nut.
Concerns the pickups we see 2 crazy Tokai Original Old MK2 that make a nice sound heard.
The finish is Army or Moss Green with Urethane lacquer and therefore the big difference is compared to the premium series that are performed with Nitro Finish. This also explains, among other things, the price difference.
In short, the specs, the finish, the build quality, the feel, the sound etc makes this guitar a popular instrument. Tokai owners all know that with a Japanese the value is retained, but outside all this is the quality sublime. Come and have a look in the shop.
