This Japanese has a two-piece Canadian Maple top and two-piece African mahogany back. The African mahogany set-neck has a comfortable hybrid 50's/60's profile and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. This in combination with Medium Size Jumbo frets makes it a truly classic model with the looks and feel.
 
The Urethane finish also makes the whole thing very nice to look at without sacrificing resonance. For those who are not connoisseurs, this is a slightly thicker lacquer that will sound more and more resonant after a lot of playing. Before that happens, you have to work to get there yourself.
 
The original Tokai LP-OLD pickups with alnico magnets are of super quality and give the guitar a wonderful vintage sound. And have you seen the Tokai Kluson Style machine heads and LS-VB bridge yet?
