The combo has separate volume and tone controls for the Hot and Cool channels. Additionally, the dimmer enables a vintage, saturated tube tone at any volume.
 
The Junior is a flexible 'hybrid amplifier', which means that it is not a complete tube amplifier, but uses a solid-state circuit. Thanks to Koch's Authentic Tube Response technology, the combo still gets that authentic tube sound, powered by two 12AX7 tubes in the power and preamplifier. The fact that there are only two tubes in this beautiful combo also means that the chance of failure is a lot smaller than with tube amplifiers. And all that for a more than reasonable price!
