Crafter Guitars
Since 1972

The history of Crafter began in 1972 in a small workshop in the basement of Crafter founder Hyungwon's home and has now been written with passion for half a century.

Before the name Crafter was coined, the first name was Sungeum and this meant: "reaching the sound"

By 1978, the Sungeum guitar company had outgrown their basement space and moved to larger premises in Yangju-gun, just outside Seoul, to meet the growing demand for the guitars. In 1986, Hyungwon's son Injae Park joined the company and the name Crafter was created.

Since its inception in 1972, Crafter has followed a program of continuous evaluation and development and prides itself on innovation and quality that has resulted in a high-quality instrument. With the 50th Anniversary series, history has really been made and Crafter can be very proud of this half century.

Vision
The Crafter brand is committed to building high quality guitars using the advanced technology and skills they have developed over 50 years.

Injae Park

One of my most important tasks at Crafter is visiting and purchasing quality wood from suppliers around the world. My travels give me the opportunity to look at the trends and fashion in all the major guitar playing countries in the world. This allows me to design and develop the models that today's guitarists want

I know that a good guitar can bring inspiration and pleasure, so it is important that I provide these modern instruments made to the highest quality standard

We strive to build the guitar of your dreams using the skill and experience we have gained over the past 50 years.

Types of wood

The types of wood and their quality determine the tone and appearance of a guitar. Characteristics such as grain and color are fundamental to appearance, while the type of wood, their grain and their density are fundamental to tone and volume. There are no "best" woods for your guitar. We choose the combination that produces the tone and appearance that suits the model.
